Although the formal title is “Report to USA Gymnastics on Proposed Policy and Procedural Changes for the Protection of Young Athletes,” the independent review and evaluation of USA Gymnastics’ policies and procedures for handling safe sport matters done by Deborah J. Daniels, a partner at Krieg DeVault LLP and a former federal prosecutor with expertise in prosecuting child sexual offenders, is more familiarly known by the gymnastics community and the general public as the Deborah Daniels report.

Deborah Daniels’ report update

USA Gymnastics has been, and continues to be, focused on building a culture that encourages, empowers and supports athletes, and prioritizes athlete safety and well-being. The implementation of the recommendations in the “Deborah Daniels Report” is one of the important and concrete ways USA Gymnastics measures its progress in its athlete-focused efforts. As of today, 86 percent of the recommendations are either implemented or in progress. USA Gymnastics is committed to putting 100 percent of the recommendations in place.
